A family of five was tragically killed in a small plane crash in New York state on their way home from a baseball tournament. The family was traveling from Georgia to West Virginia for a quick pit stop before heading to their final destination in Atlanta. The victims were identified as Roger Beggs, Laura VanEpps, Ryan VanEpps, James R. VanEpps, and Harrison VanEpps. Georgia Governor Brian P. Kemp extended his condolences to the families affected by the crash.

A federal investigation into the crash is currently underway, with an NTSB investigator expected to examine the wreckage and determine the cause of the malfunction. The investigation will focus on the pilot, the aircraft, and the operating environment, including weather conditions. A preliminary report will be available in about 30 days, while a final report with the probable cause of death may take 12 to 24 months.

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact the National Transportation Safety Board. The community is coming together to mourn the loss of the Beggs and VanEpps families and to support those affected by this tragedy.
