Several new laws are set to go into effect in Virginia on July 1, including a ban on child marriage, making Virginia the first state in the south to implement such a law. Another new law allows localities to set the speed limit as low as 15 mph within the state highway system, and businesses without customer bathrooms must allow individuals with certain medical conditions, such as Crohn’s disease or pregnancy, to use employee bathrooms.
