Charlottesville Resident Crowned Miss Virginia 2024
Charlottesville resident Carlehr Swanson has been named Miss Virginia 2024 by Miss Virginia Opportunity Inc. Swanson, who won $22,500 in scholarship awards, was crowned on June 29 at the Berglund Center in Roanoke.
As Miss Virginia, Swanson will be serving as a goodwill ambassador, performing artist, and motivational speaker as she travels around the state. She plans to visit over 70 elementary schools on behalf of the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control to educate students on making healthy choices regarding substance abuse prevention. She will also share her own message on the importance of music in one’s life.
Swanson will represent Virginia in the national Miss America competition scheduled for January 2025. Her win is a source of pride for her hometown of Charlottesville and she is expected to make a positive impact as she fulfills her duties as Miss Virginia 2024.
