Three brave 11-year-old girls in Washington are being hailed as heroes for stopping the attempted kidnapping of a 6-year-old girl in Kent, a suburb of Seattle. Police received a 911 call reporting a man picking up the young girl while she screamed and did not appear to be a relative. The eyewitness provided a detailed description of the man, leading officers to quickly detain him when they arrived at the scene.
The girls noticed the man holding the 6-year-old’s wrist and trying to forcibly pull her away. They followed the man, recorded him on their phones, and questioned him about his relationship with the girl, to which he lied. Eventually, the man put the girl down and tried to run away, but the girls managed to bring the 6-year-old back to safety. The parents confirmed that the suspect was a stranger.
The suspect, a 40-year-old local man, was arrested on kidnapping charges and booked at King County Jail. The Kent Police Department praised the girls for their selfless bravery and maturity in protecting the younger girl. The girls’ quick thinking and actions ultimately led to the safe rescue of the 6-year-old and the arrest of the suspect.
