Two scuba divers from Oklahoma who went missing off a beach in Texas were rescued by the Coast Guard after being located about 15 miles offshore. The divers were last seen at the surface during severe weather, but were found by search operations after a flashing light in the water was spotted. The search efforts lasted over 36 hours and covered a large area of the ocean before the divers were finally located. The rescued divers, identified as Nathan and Kim Maker from Edmond, Oklahoma, were transported to a Coast Guard station and are in stable condition. Kim Maker is an elementary school teacher, and the Edmond School District expressed relief upon hearing of their rescue. The third diver who was with them, Lisa Shearin, spoke of her astonishment at their rescue and believes they have a greater purpose. Overall, the rescued divers are said to have a story to tell after surviving such a harrowing experience.
