Virginia Woman Seeks New Home for Memorial After Destruction of Motorcyclist Tribute

Selena Drincic has spent the past four years tending a roadside memorial on Bles Park Drive in Loudoun County, Virginia, where her partner, Damion Robinson, was killed in a motorcycle accident. Drincic’s efforts to maintain the memorial were met with vandalism, as the memorial kept being torn down by unknown individuals.

After sharing her story on social media, Drincic received support from the community, with neighbors reaching out to offer help and friendship. Together, they decided to install a permanent bench in honor of Robinson, in addition to displaying purple balloons and signs urging drivers to slow down on the anniversary of his death.

Drincic hopes to find a location for the memorial bench as a way to honor Robinson’s memory and raise awareness about the vulnerability of motorcyclists, pedestrians, and cyclists on the road. She emphasized the importance of ensuring that their voices are heard and that their families are not forgotten.

The acts of solidarity from the community have been a source of comfort for Drincic, who is grateful for the support she has received in turning a tragic event into a message of remembrance and safety. As the efforts to honor Robinson continue, Drincic remains hopeful that the memorial bench will serve as a lasting reminder of the importance of road safety for all.
