Day 2 of Paris Olympic Games 2024: Swimming, Gymnastics, and Basketball Events in Full Swing – Follow Live Coverage

Ariarne Titmus of Australia won the 400m freestyle race at the Paris Olympics, beating out competitors Summer McIntosh of Canada and Katie Ledecky of the USA. Titmus executed her race plan flawlessly, leading at every turn, in what was expected to be a nail-biting contest but turned into a coronation. The victory was a highlight of the day, which also saw Grace Brown win a treacherous time trial and the start of surfing competition at Teahupo’o. The first day of Olympic surfing in Tahiti featured powerful waves at the famous break, providing a thrilling spectacle for spectators. Additionally, concerns were raised about water quality in the River Seine, which is scheduled to host marathon swimming and triathlon events. Despite heavy rain affecting water quality, the events are set to proceed with precautions. As the day progressed, more events, including shooting, mountain biking, judo, archery, skateboarding, canoe slalom, swimming, and fencing took place. Notable events to look forward to included the return of Adam Peaty in swimming, the dominance of the US men’s basketball team, and the competition in women’s street skateboarding. With Australia currently leading the medal table, the second day of competition promised more excitement and action for athletes and fans alike.
