A woman from Washington D.C., Sasha Castillo, is facing a felony charge for aiding in the escape of a prisoner from the Virginia Department of Corrections in 2023. The prisoner, Naseem Isaiah Roulack, also known as “Lil Nas,” escaped from Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital in Henrico County and was captured at a Fairfax County hotel before being returned to custody. The Virginia Department of Corrections is determined to prosecute all those involved in the escape, including inmates who attempt to escape and those who assist them. VADOC Director Chad Dotson emphasized that justice must be served for these actions. Castillo’s trial date in Richmond City Circuit Court has not been scheduled.
