Consensus four-star forward Cam Ward has narrowed down his recruitment to 10 schools, with Virginia making the cut. The 6’6″ small forward is also considering Michigan State, Marquette, Mississippi State, Alabama, Kansas State, Maryland, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and Florida State. Ward has scheduled official visits to Kansas State, Maryland, Michigan State, and Alabama. Ranked as the No. 48 overall prospect in the class of 2025, Ward is drawing attention from major conference programs after an impressive year that saw him lead Largo High School to a state championship and become the school’s all-time leading scorer. In addition, Ward has made a mark on the summer basketball circuit, posting impressive statistics in the Nike EYBL. Virginia is actively pursuing Ward, identifying him as one of their top targets in the 2025 recruiting class. The Cavaliers are also targeting other prospects such as Derek Dixon, Nate Ament, Chance Mallory, Mason Blackwood, Isaiah Denis, JJ Mandaquit, Matthew Able, and Jack McCaffery.
