A tragic incident occurred in Sterling, Virginia as a woman was killed after being run over by her own car during a carjacking. The victim, identified as Melody Waldecker, 54, of Silver Spring, was struck as the carjacker was fleeing the scene on Sunday morning. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 21000 Towncenter Plaza area after receiving a report of the carjacking. Upon arrival, deputies found Waldecker dead.
A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident, and authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community. However, the investigation is still ongoing and anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Detective Rodriquez at (703) 777-1021.
