Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are currently in a dead heat in the race for the White House, according to recent polling data. Harris, who became the Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden’s exit from the 2024 presidential race, has closed the gap with Trump both nationwide and in key battleground states.

In a series of polls, Harris is ahead of Trump in Michigan, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada, while Trump leads in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. They are tied in Georgia. If the polling results were replicated on election day, the candidate who wins Georgia would be elected president.

The positive polling for Harris comes after she rapidly consolidated support among Democrats following Biden’s decision to step aside due to poor polling. Harris is expected to announce her running mate soon and embark on a tour of swing states that will decide the election.

During a campaign event in Atlanta, Harris challenged Trump to a debate in September and criticized his stances on healthcare and abortion. Trump, on the other hand, has tried to paint Harris as a candidate with extreme positions on issues, calling her a “radical left-liberal, San Francisco extremist.”

The race between Harris and Trump is heating up, with both candidates vying for the support of voters in key battleground states. The upcoming election on November 5 will be crucial in determining the next president of the United States.
