Former President Jimmy Carter, who is approaching his 100th birthday, has expressed his determination to vote in the upcoming presidential election. Despite receiving hospice care for over a year and battling cancer that spread to his brain in 2015, Carter is holding on to make it to the polls to vote for Kamala Harris. He told his son Chip that voting in the election is important to him. Carter voted in the Georgia primary in May and his grandson Jason Carter emphasized that not missing an election is a priority for the former president. Representatives from the Carter Center in Atlanta were unable to comment on Carter’s statement. Carter’s commitment to exercising his right to vote even as he faces health challenges reflects his strong belief in civic engagement and dedication to participating in the democratic process.
