Vice President Kamala Harris is set to meet with at least three finalists to serve as her running mate, including Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and Sen. Mark Kelly. The meetings will take place at the vice president’s residence in Washington and are described as a “chemistry test” to help Harris make her decision. Other potential candidates include Pete Buttigieg, Andy Beshear, and J.B. Pritzker, with the vetting process being led by former Attorney General Eric Holder. Harris is expected to announce her choice by Tuesday and plans to notify supporters through a text message, similar to how President Joe Biden announced her as his running mate four years ago. The decision will kick off a multi-state battleground blitz with the chosen candidate. Harris’ campaign is encouraging supporters to sign up for text alerts to be among the first to learn about her VP pick.
