Maryland child killed when bounce house is lifted by strong wind

One child is dead and another is injured after a bounce house was flung into the air by a gust of wind at a baseball game in Maryland. The incident occurred at the Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, where the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball team was playing. A 5-year-old boy was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased, while another child sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The bounce house flew about 15 to 20 feet in the air while children were inside before landing on the playing field. Emergency personnel at the stadium, baseball team trainers, and volunteer first responders quickly provided medical care to the children. The Charles County Government commissioner president expressed sympathy for the families of the children involved and thanked the EMS team and Maryland State Police for their quick response. The incident is currently under investigation. Julia, a reporter for USA TODAY, covered this tragic event, highlighting the swift actions taken by emergency responders.
