Russia-Ukraine war: Important events of Day 903 in the conflict | Latest updates on Russia-Ukraine war

In the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine had taken control of the town of Sudzha in Russia’s Kursk region after a surprise attack. Ukrainian forces have advanced 1.5km in the past 24 hours and now control 1,150 square kilometers of Russian territory. The Russian Ministry of Defence has not confirmed these claims but stated that Russian forces had prevented Ukraine from taking other settlements.

At least two people were killed and 12 injured in a bomb attack on Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, while Ukraine’s air force reportedly shot down 29 Russian drones targeting multiple regions. In politics, a US-Russian citizen was jailed in Russia for treason for donating to a charity that aids Ukraine, and Ukraine denied involvement in sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipelines in 2022. Belarus’s President Lukashenko called for negotiations to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.

The UK Ministry of Defence stated that Ukraine could use British weapons in operations on Russian territory, with restrictions on long-range missiles. Reports indicated that UK-donated Challenger 2 tanks were being used by Ukraine in the Kursk incursion. Despite these developments, fighting continues in both Ukraine’s partially-occupied eastern Donetsk region and the village of Ivanivka in eastern Ukraine.

The situation remains tense as both sides face casualties and territorial shifts. The ongoing conflict continues to impact regions on both sides of the border as diplomatic efforts are made to negotiate a possible resolution to the war.
