Former Rep. George Santos is expected to plead guilty to charges of fraud and misusing campaign funds on Monday. He was indicted on 13 felony counts last year and faced an additional ten counts in October. The plea is expected to occur in a federal court in New York and would avoid a federal trial set to start in September. Santos was expelled from Congress last year after a report from the House Ethics Committee accused him of stealing from his own campaign, deceiving donors, and violating federal laws. Despite denying the allegations, the House voted to oust Santos by a margin of 311-114 in a bipartisan manner.
