Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has broken the world record for the fastest YouTube channel to hit one million subscribers. The 39-year-old, who currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, launched his channel with a bang as more than a million fans signed up within the first 90 minutes.
Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, has been a key player for Portugal in international tournaments for over two decades. He announced the launch of his YouTube channel on Wednesday, encouraging fans to join him on his new journey.
Just a few hours after posting his first video, Ronaldo had amassed 1.69 million subscribers on his newly launched digital platform. This success comes as no surprise, considering Ronaldo’s massive social media following, with 112.5 million followers on Twitter, 170 million on Facebook, and a staggering 636 million on Instagram.
The former Real Madrid and Manchester United player is currently gearing up for his team’s Saudi Pro League opener against Al-Raed on Thursday. With his popularity reaching new heights on YouTube, there is no doubt that Ronaldo will continue to captivate audiences both on and off the field.
