California police find 10-foot python left in vehicle, believed to be abandoned

California police officers in Vallejo recovered a 10-foot python after a late-night chase in the Bay Area. The snake was found abandoned in a vehicle that officers had worked to chase down during disrupted sideshow activities. Sideshows are illegal gatherings where drivers take over intersections and perform tricks with their cars. Vallejo Police, along with other local agencies, were in the area to address the sideshow when they initiated a pursuit after individuals in a Cadillac CT6 pointed lasers at a California Highway Patrol helicopter. The chase ended in Hercules with four arrests and the discovery of the python.

Vallejo Police documented the incident on social media, specifically X, formerly Twitter. They described the recovery of the nonvenomous snake as abandoned from the vehicle involved in the pursuit. Vallejo, situated about 32 miles from San Francisco, is a part of the Bay Area region where the chase took place.

The Vallejo Police Department has been contacted for more information on the incident. The recovery of the python adds an unusual twist to the already eventful late-night chase involving disruptive sideshow activities and arrests. It serves as a reminder of the unexpected situations law enforcement officers can encounter while on duty.
