The West Virginia University women’s basketball team is set to take on Bowling Green in their fifth straight home game to start the season. The game will take place at the WVU Coliseum on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. The match will be broadcast live on the Mountaineer Sports Network as well as ESPN+.
This will be the third meeting between WVU and Bowling Green, with WVU leading the series 2-0. The Mountaineers have a perfect record in nonconference home contests dating back to the 2017-18 season. Coach Mark Kellogg boasts a perfect 14-0 record in nonconference games.
Bowling Green comes into the game off a strong win against St. Bonaventure, led by Amy Velasco who averages 20.3 points per game. WVU’s key players include JJ Quinerly, Jordan Harrison, and Sydney Shaw who all score in double figures, with Harrison leading in assists.
The Mountaineers have been dominant defensively, forcing over 20 turnovers per game and ranking third in the nation in turnovers forced. They also lead the Big 12 Conference in points per game and scoring margin across their first four games of the season.
Senior guard JJ Quinerly is on track to break into the top 10 in career points and top five in steals in WVU history. She currently sits at 1,433 points and 8th in steals with 244. The team looks to continue their strong start to the season and secure another win against Bowling Green on Tuesday.
