Virginia House Del. Michael Feggans, a Democrat, has announced that he will run for reelection in District 97. This comes in response to former Republican Del. Tim Anderson’s announcement that he will make a bid for the seat in an attempt to shift the Democratic majority in the House.
Feggans, 42, defeated Republican Karen Greenhalgh in 2023 in a closely contested race. He is a U.S. Air Force veteran and a graduate of Tallwood High School. In a news release, Feggans stated that he aims to address the challenges and aspirations of his community, with a focus on supporting small businesses, veterans, military families, and expanding access to affordable housing.
If elected, Feggans plans to continue his efforts to represent the people who have put their trust in him. He emphasized his commitment to getting things done for his constituents.
As the election season heats up, the race for District 97 will be closely watched. Feggans and Anderson will likely put forth their platforms and engage with voters to secure their support. The outcome of this race could have an impact on the balance of power in the Virginia House.
