Virginia Tech Unveils December Wellness Programs to Boost Employee Well-Being
This December, Hokie Wellness is launching a series of programs aimed at enhancing the well-being of Virginia Tech employees during the often-stressful holiday season.
Kicking off on December 3, an online Information Session will provide an overview of mental health resources available to employees, including TimelyCare and the Employee Assistance Program. Following this, the “More Joy, Less Stress” online workshop on December 5 will offer strategies for managing holiday stress and setting realistic goals to reclaim joy during the season.
For those seeking to improve body image, the Body Project for Employees on December 10 invites participants to engage in a supportive discussion to challenge unrealistic appearance ideals and cultivate self-esteem. This session will be held at the North End Center.
Attention to healthy eating during the festivities will be addressed in the “Healthy Holidays” program on December 12. This online session will offer tips for balancing indulgence with healthy habits, encouraging attendees to enjoy holiday treats without compromising their wellness goals.
Additionally, Hokie Wellness is hosting a Parent/Guardian Meet Up at Wonder Universe on December 15, an informal gathering where parents can connect while their children explore the museum’s activities, complete with snacks.
For those interested in enhancing communication skills, the “Improv Your Communication” workshop on December 16 will teach how improvisational techniques can improve interactions in both personal and professional settings.
On December 17, participants can take a midday break with a DIY craft session while enjoying their lunch. The month wraps up with a hybrid session on December 20, focusing on essential questions to ask during medical appointments.
Registration is required for all sessions. For a comprehensive list of programs and to register, employees are encouraged to visit the Hokie Wellness website.
