TCU Dominates West Virginia, Sweeping the Series


The West Virginia University volleyball team suffered a 3-0 defeat against No. 22 TCU at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown. Despite the loss, sophomore Maddy McGath led the team with 13 kills and three blocks. Senior Hailey Green and freshman Nina Svetina also contributed with eight and new career-high kills respectively. Graduate student Lauren DeLo recorded 27 assists and 12 digs, achieving her sixth double-double of the season.

The Mountaineers fought hard in the first set but TCU managed to secure a 25-22 win. The second set saw West Virginia take the lead briefly before TCU rallied back to win 25-22 again. In the third set, TCU dominated with a 25-16 victory. The team will now prepare to face No. 16 Baylor in their final regular season match on November 29, which will also be Senior Day to honor departing seniors DeLo, Green, McBride, and Reed.

The match against Baylor is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET at the WVU Coliseum. Despite the challenging season, the Mountaineers remain determined to finish strong and honor their seniors in their last home game.
