Senior McKenzie Martin and junior Averi Martin were named to the first team, while senior libero Addison Smith received second team honors and junior Brooklyn Six earned an honorable mention. The team finished with a record of 28-8-3 and lost a five-set thriller in the state championship match.
Head coach Morgan Saddler expressed pride in the team’s achievements and highlighted the collective effort that led to individual accolades. McKenzie Martin, a senior standout, concluded her career with impressive stats including 1,399 kills and 1,014 digs. Averi Martin, also a key player, accumulated 782 kills and 251 blocks in her career. Addison Smith was praised for her defensive skills, totaling 778 digs and 1,550 serve receptions. Brooklyn Six made significant contributions with 581 kills and 53 blocks.
Saddler commended each player for their hard work, leadership, and dedication to the team. He noted McKenzi’s role as a leader on and off the court, Averi’s offensive and defensive impact, Addison’s consistency in defense, and Brooklyn’s offensive prowess. The Golden Bears’ success was attributed to the teamwork and support of every player on the roster. Despite falling short in the state championship match, Oak Glen’s volleyball program received recognition for their outstanding season and talented players.
