Maryland Social Media Influencer Convicted of Reckless Driving
Maryland-based social media influencer, Morgan Alexis Fray, known for her @morgsvstheworld account with over 400,000 followers on TikTok, had her travel goals put on hold after being convicted of reckless driving in Wythe County General District Court. The 27-year-old influencer was sentenced to serve two months in jail and fined $2,500 for driving her purple BMW at 136 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 81. Despite pleading not guilty to the offense on Nov. 12, Fray admitted to the speeding when stopped by Deputy J.A. Eller.
Having no prior criminal record, Fray also co-owns a restaurant with her parents. She was allowed to serve her sentence on weekends starting on Nov. 28, with hopes of still reaching her goal of visiting 100 countries by the age of 30. The influencer’s detour to the New River Valley Regional Jail may have put a bump in her travel plans, but she remains determined to continue sharing her adventures on social media.
Fray’s case serves as a reminder to all drivers to obey speed limits and practice safe driving habits. Despite her social media fame, no one is above the law, and consequences for reckless behavior can have lasting effects. As Fray navigates her legal consequences, her followers are left wondering how this setback will impact her ability to achieve her travel goals.
