Duke’s freshman star Cooper Flagg led the way with a double-double as the No. 3 Blue Devils easily defeated Virginia 80-62. The victory extended Duke’s winning streak to three games following their lone conference loss earlier in February. In addition to Flagg’s strong performance, Kon Knueppel contributed 17 points to the win. Virginia’s Andrew Rohde put up 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists in a losing effort. Unfortunately, Duke’s Maliq Brown suffered a shoulder injury during the game.
Elsewhere, No. 19 Arizona secured a 74-67 victory over Baylor with Tobe Awaka recording a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds. Caleb Love and Henri Veesaar both added 13 points for the Wildcats. VJ Edgecombe led the scoring for Baylor with 24 points, while Norchad Omier tallied a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Jayden Nunn also chipped in 10 points for the Bears.
The win helped Arizona move into second place in the Big 12 Conference standings. After suffering back-to-back losses last week, the Wildcats were able to bounce back with a solid performance against Baylor. Both Arizona and Duke continue to be top contenders in their respective conferences as they look to build momentum heading into the postseason.
