President Donald Trump announced that conservative talk show host Dan Bongino will be the next deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, appointed by newly confirmed director Kash Patel. Bongino, a former police officer and U.S. Secret Service member, has authored books on politics and worked as a Fox News host. In 2022, he was banned from YouTube for spreading COVID-19 misinformation. Bongino’s popular conservative podcast, The Dan Bongino Show, currently ranks 56th in the United States. The deputy director of the FBI is responsible for overseeing the bureau’s operations and special agents across the country. The FBI employs over 38,000 individuals with a budget of over $11 billion.
