The West Virginia Mountaineers women’s basketball team will open the week with a home game against Utah on Wednesday, Feb. 26, before hitting the road to face Cincinnati on Saturday, March 1. Last week, the team moved to 21-6 on the season and 11-5 in Big 12 Conference play, with a win against No. 12 Kansas State and a loss to No. 10 TCU. Key player JJ Quinerly has had a standout season, surpassing 1,500 career points.
In wrestling, the Mountaineers earned their 10th dual win of the season by defeating Arizona State 24-13 on Feb. 23, with senior Peyton Hall moving closer to the program’s all-time win record. The gymnastics team recorded a season-high score of 195.825 in a meet against No. 25 Arizona State, with sophomore Amber Lowe earning her second event win of the season.
Meanwhile, the swimming and diving teams are set to compete at the 2025 Big 12 Championships, while the rifle team will host the GARC Championship. The tennis team begins Big 12 play on the road against TCU and Baylor, and the track and field team will compete at the Big 12 Indoor Championships. The golf team will participate in the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate in Henderson, Nevada, while the baseball team aims to sweep Lipscomb before heading into a four-game series against Queens (N.C.).
