West Virginia University Athletics is introducing a new Mountaineer Athletic Club (MAC) per seat contribution model for season tickets at the WVU Coliseum starting in the 2025-26 season. This revamped model for men’s basketball aims to simplify the ticket purchasing process and aligns with the football season ticket model. MAC members will have increased transparency regarding parking, benefits, and season tickets.
The per seat contribution will be combined with other donations to WVU Athletics to determine overall Mountaineer Athletic Club membership level. This integration will enhance MAC priority ranking, which determines seating and parking selections. The new model aims to expand access to season tickets while strengthening connections with loyal fans and welcoming new generations of Mountaineers.
The model ensures that 30% of season ticket holders will not experience an increase in their overall cost, and 50% will have an increase of less than $250. New season ticket holders will see a 25% decrease in the cost in select areas of the Coliseum. The goal is to create fair and affordable ticket options while increasing access to prime seating locations.
WVU will provide resources to guide fans through the season ticket model change, including a landing page with information, a pricing calculator, and FAQs. Account Managers are also available for one-on-one conversations. For the 2026-27 season, a seat adjustment will give season ticket holders flexibility to choose options within the new pricing structure. The priority point system will determine the order of seat and parking selection.
This new model aligns WVU with other Power 4 schools and aims to create sustainable financial models in a rapidly evolving collegiate athletics landscape. WVU Athletics is adapting to meet financial demands to sustain national competitiveness in college sports.
