A new entertainment venue named The Dome is set to open in Virginia Beach at the Atlantic Park project, hosting roughly 100 events per year and creating 200 jobs. The venue, located at Arctic Avenue and 20th Street at the Oceanfront, will feature music, comedy, and special events while paying homage to its predecessor, a famous music venue that hosted legends like Louis Armstrong and The Rolling Stones. The $350 million project is a partnership between the city, Pharrell Williams, and Venture Realty Group, with Live Nation operating the venue. The indoor music hall will hold up to 3,500 people, with an additional 1,500 guests able to enjoy outdoor viewing areas. The City Council is set to vote on franchise agreements for two outdoor cafes within the Atlantic Park footprint as construction progresses. Pharrell Williams is also working with the city to finalize plans for the Something in the Water music festival in April. The Dome is expected to become a premier entertainment destination in the area, with hiring fairs to be held in the spring for the 200 jobs created. Fans can look forward to a variety of lounges and VIP areas with outdoor terraces and balconies at the new venue. Stay tuned for the announcement of the first show at The Dome in the coming weeks.
