Virginia Beach, Va. – Pharrell Williams’ Something in the Water festival is set to return to Virginia Beach on October 12-13. The City Council is working closely with Williams’ team to finalize details for the event, which will feature stages set up on the Oceanfront beach.
While the artist lineup is still under wraps, Councilwoman Amelia Ross-Hammond stated that a plan to announce the lineup in two weeks is in the works. Leading up to the festival, there will be special screenings of Pharrell’s Lego Movie and a celebrity golf tournament at Red Wing Golf Course.
The festival, which originally started in 2019 to mark College Beach Weekend, has faced cancellations in 2020, 2021, and 2023. The 2020 and 2021 cancellations were due to the pandemic, while the 2023 festival was cut short due to weather. In 2022, the festival was relocated to Washington D.C. due to issues with Virginia Beach leadership.
Despite these challenges, Something in the Water has seen success over the years and is expected to draw a large crowd this year. More details about the event are expected to be released as the festival approaches. Stay tuned for updates on this highly anticipated event in Virginia Beach.
