Virginia Tech’s Division of Facilities has announced a planned system outage for an upgrade to the Ready Request platform on Friday, March 28, at 6 p.m. until Saturday, March 29, at noon. During this time, the platform for service requests including maintenance and permits will be temporarily unavailable. To accommodate this outage, the university community has been advised on how to handle maintenance requests for various spaces during the upgrade. For educational and general use spaces, individuals are instructed to call the Virginia Tech Police Department’s non-emergency line if a maintenance request is needed. Routine requests can be emailed or called in, and those using the Virginia Tech work management system for leased-facilities requests are advised to follow the same procedure. For residential and dining spaces, non-urgent maintenance requests can be submitted through Ready Request after the system is restored, while urgent requests should be emailed to designated addresses or contacted through specific phone lines. Temporary use applications for events involving tents or inflatables are also outlined, with requirements for events taking place within 30 days versus beyond. Questions regarding the upgrade can be directed to vtrepair@vt.edu.
