Famous individuals generously donate to aid in wildfire recovery missions


Several celebrities, including members of BTS and IU, have recently made generous donations to support victims of the wildfires in the Gyeongsang provinces of North and South Korea. Singer IU donated 200 million won to help with damage control and improve treatment for local firefighters. BTS members J-Hope and Suga donated 100 million won each for emergency disaster relief, reparations, and providing necessities for the victims. Boy band Seventeen also donated 1 billion won to support the fire victims. In total, over 2 billion won has been donated by various celebrities and entertainment agencies to help those impacted by the devastating fires. The Korean government has declared a state of national disaster as the wildfires have claimed at least 22 lives and injured 18 people, affecting over 33,000 hectares of land.
