The Women’s Impact Network, developed by VCU women to empower women within the university community, is making a splash in philanthropy and engagement. Led by alumnae and volunteers, WIN aims to highlight and strengthen women’s roles at VCU through collective giving and impactful programming. Open to all, membership levels start at a $1,000 annual commitment, with recent graduates able to join for $500. A portion of gifts will support the Women’s Impact Network Fund, while members can also direct funds to VCU programs of their choice. Sharon Darby, VCU alumna and inaugural chair of the WIN executive committee, believes that WIN is a powerful community dedicated to making a difference. With an emphasis on engagement, leadership, and philanthropy, WIN is focused on advancing women’s impact not only at VCU but also in the wider community. Through expert-led programming and strategic initiatives, WIN aims to benefit the entire university community. Amy Gray Beck, executive director of affinity programs at DAR, believes that WIN represents an important opportunity for deeper engagement and celebrating the generosity of women at VCU. The group’s efforts over the past year and a half have laid a strong foundation for WIN to continue making a lasting impact.
