Fredericksburg, VA – University of Mary Washington is proud to announce that senior Zack Blue has been honored as a member of the 2024-25 Virginia Sports Information Directors Men’s Basketball College Division All-State Team. Blue capped off his collegiate basketball career with an impressive milestone, scoring over 1,000 points during his final game. This past season, he averaged 11 points per game, leading the team with 50 three-pointers, 91 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 51 steals. His contributions were instrumental in helping the Mary Washington basketball team advance to the third round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
In football news, fellow Patriot Jakai Moore has made headlines by signing with the University of North Carolina, where he will continue his career under the leadership of six-time Super Bowl champion coach Bill Belichick. Moore announced on April 24 that he was entering the transfer portal after a successful six-season tenure at the University of South Carolina. During his time with the Gamecocks, he played in 44 games and made 28 starts as an offensive lineman. Following a medical redshirt, which granted him a seventh year of eligibility, Moore is eager to bring his experience and skills to his new team.
The University of Mary Washington celebrates the achievements of these two exemplary athletes as they transition to new chapters in their sports careers. The institution remains committed to fostering talent and success both on and off the field, exemplifying its dedication to excellence in collegiate athletics.
