The Virginia War Memorial in Richmond is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the RADM Marocchi Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship, awarded annually, is available to Virginia high school seniors and college students who plan to enroll or are already enrolled in ROTC at schools in Virginia. Two scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded, one to a graduating high school senior and the other to a Virginia resident attending college in the state. Applications must be submitted by April 28, 2025, and winners will be recognized at the Virginia War Memorial’s Memorial Day Ceremony in Richmond on May 26, 2025.
The scholarship honors Rear Admiral John Marocchi, a distinguished Navy officer with a long career of service including World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Admiral Marocchi was known for his dedication and leadership, and the scholarship aims to support students who demonstrate similar qualities and a commitment to serving in the military.
