Cameron’s Maci Neely and Macey Bertram were recognized as part of the WVSWA Class A All-State First Team, along with Valley’s Laken Dawson. Meanwhile, Gilmer County’s Allie Ellyson was honored as the captain of the all-state first team, following their dominant run to the Class A state title. Ellyson was joined by teammate Ava Dobbins on the first team, with Dobbins earning her second consecutive nod.
Preslee Treadway of Greenbrier West and Kenzie Browning of Tug Valley were among the other repeat selections on the first team. Treadway stood out with impressive scoring and rebounding numbers, while Browning showcased her all-around game. Notre Dame’s Selena Wilson and Tucker County’s Raven Matthews were also recognized on the first team.
Notable second team selections included Tug Valley’s Bailee Hall, River View’s Chasity Kennedy, and Tucker County’s Makenna Evans. Haven Deskins of Tug Valley was named the captain of the second team, with players from various schools earning recognition for their standout performances throughout the season.
The All-State honorees have the opportunity to purchase wooden plaques featuring their name, school, and the licensed WVSWA logo. The plaques are available for first team, second team, and honorable mention selections, showcasing the talent and achievement of the top high school basketball players in West Virginia.
