Driver Struck by Amtrak Train at Virginia Railroad Crossing, Charges Pending


A 54-year-old driver was hit by an Amtrak train in Prince William County, Virginia. The driver, traveling in a 2019 Ford F350, was involved in a collision with Train 151 at a railroad crossing on Bristow Road near Nokesville Road. The train had just left the Manassas Station with 137 passengers and crew on board, traveling from New York to Roanoke. The crossing did not have lowering arms, and the train was estimated to be traveling at approximately 74 mph at the time of the crash. The conductor sounded the train’s horn before the crossing and stopped about 5-7.75 miles from the collision site.

The driver’s son, Xavier Parks, spoke to reporters at the scene, stating that his father was breathing and talking but in a lot of pain. Charges are pending in connection with the incident, though details have not yet been released by the authorities.
