The Blue Ridge Wildlife Center, one of the state’s largest wildlife rehab centers, has been dedicated to saving injured native animals in the Shenandoah Valley for over twenty-five years. With a team of full-time and volunteer techs and veterinarians, the center takes in hundreds of wounded animals each year and provides them with the necessary care to return to the wild or live at a partner rescue shelter.
In addition to their rehab efforts, the center also offers educational classes and opportunities for the public. Daily wildlife walks and tours introduce visitors to ambassador species like skunks, owls, possums, and turtles. Themed events, such as “Fantastic Foxes!”, provide a deeper look into the daily lives of wildlife.
The Blue Ridge Wildlife Center’s mission is to not only rehabilitate injured animals but also to educate the public on the importance of native wildlife. With their array of educational programs and events, the center aims to raise awareness and foster a greater appreciation for the animals that call the Shenandoah Valley home.
